在美国决定退出巴黎气候协定之际，中国跃跃欲试，以在全球气候治理方面填补世界领导者的空缺。然而，多年来一直成为污染大国的中国，这种反污染的承诺看似荒唐并难以令人信服。但近年来中国一直限制温室气体的排放，减少煤炭的使用，并积极推崇太阳能和风能发电技术，以其实际行动向世人证明在气候治理上，中国并非在夸夸其谈。
China is trying to fill the global leadership vacuum in climate change as the US vows to withdraw from the Paris accord. However, being a prime polluter for years, China’s position to champion climate change has sparked concerns and skepticism. But by cutting green gas emissions, reducing coal consumptions and eagerly embracing solar and wind power technology, China has proven to the world that its climate pledges are much more than empty promises.
