中英对照：为恢复被疫情打击的经济，多伦多亚洲社区用新意举办美食节

 

 

日前，我参加了第一届、为期一个月的多伦多亚洲美食节（Asialicious TO）和亚洲停车场美食嘉年华（Asialicious Drive-in Carnival）的新闻发布会。多伦多市政府将资助亚洲美食节。而亚洲停车场美食嘉年华于9月11日至13日在士嘉堡的伍德赛德广场购物中心举行。

 

This past week, I attended the Press Conference for the 1st Annual AsialiciousTO month long food festival and Asialicious Drive-in Carnival. The food festival happens from September 11 th – October 11 th, 2020 supported by the City of Toronto while the Carnival will be held between September 11th to 13th at the Woodside Square in Scarborough.

 

多伦多每年都要举办活动来庆祝亚洲文化遗产月。今年，非营利组织-多伦多加亚联盟协会 (FACT)向多伦多市士嘉堡北选区的市议员封賴桂霞建议举办以上两个活动。和其他生意一样，Covid-19疫情给多伦多的亚洲餐馆业造成巨大损失。举办这样的活动有助于促进多伦多的经济恢复。这两个活动由多伦多加亚联盟协会与多伦多多伦多华埠商业促进区和多伦多东区华商会共同举办。

 

The idea of the Asialicious event was originally proposed to Scarborough North Councillor Cynthia Lai by the non-profit organization - Federation of Asian-Canadians Toronto (FACT) as a celebration of the Asian Heritage month each year. Asian restaurants have been hit by the pandemic like other businesses and the festival came about to help boost the Toronto economy recovery. The festival is mainly organized by FACT along with Toronto Chinatown Business Improvement Area and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce (E.T.) Inc.

 

亚洲美食节将有200多家餐厅，咖啡馆，餐车参与。活动目的不仅是为了推广传统和地道的亚洲美食，而且要让人们尝试疫情期间亚洲食品的发明和创造。该活动将涵盖各种亚洲美食，包括中国，菲律宾，印度，日本，韩国，巴基斯坦，斯里兰卡，泰国等。

 

AsialiciousTO aims to not only promote Asian cuisines in their traditional and authentic forms, but it will also be a celebration of innovation and creativity with over 200 participating venues (restaurants, cafes, food trucks...etc) to join. The event will cover all kinds of Asian cuisines such as Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, Thai and many more.

 

这次活动中的一个亮点是，许多餐饮商都会用特价推出他们的招牌菜，让人们利用这一机会品尝多伦多最棒的亚洲美食！餐饮商有三种不同的套餐，价格分别为10元，20元或30元。人们所订购的餐将由Chowbus独家免费送餐。

 

One of the most exciting things about the festival is that many dining establishments will include their signature dishes in their menus, creating a great opportunity for diners to try some of the city’s best Asian food at a promotional price! Each establishment will offer its diners three (3) set menus , priced at either $10, $20, or $30. Delivery will exclusively be executed through the Chowbus food delivery platform at no cost to the consumer during this time when ordering from one of the participating restaurants.

 

亚洲停车场美食嘉年华是一个独具创意的想法。人们坐在车里参加活动将把COVID-19疫情的传染机会降到最低。该活动在士嘉堡的伍德赛德广场购物中心的停车场举行。3天的活动是一个充满乐趣、挺刺激的事。活动包括多元文化表演，电影和网络直播等。 

 

As for the Asialicious Drive-in Carnival, it is a most innovative idea. The Carnival utilizes the Drive-in format to minimize the chances of COVID-19 transmissions. Taking place at the Woodside Square Parking Lot in Scarborough, it will be a fun-filled 3 day weekend adventure. The Carnival will feature multicultural performances, Movie viewing, and internet streaming of all the activities.

 

要想参加此嘉年华必须事先预定停车位和停车的时间。为了减少下车走动的时间，你可以在车里订购和享受食物和小吃。这一做法会使每个人保持社交距离，将疫情传染的风险降到最低。 

 

Booking is necessary to reserve a spot and a time slot for attendance at the Carnival. Sitting in the comfort of one's vehicle, pre-ordered food and snacks will be delivered directly to the attendees to minimize the need to exit the vehicle. In doing so, everyone will be in compliance with the social distance requirements and minimizes the risks of corona-virus transmissions.

 

亚洲停车场美食嘉年华的时间为：9月11日（星期五下午6点至晚上11点），9月12日（星期六上午11点至晚上11点）和9月13日（星期日中午至下午6点）。周六，该活动将举办一个向抗疫前线的人致敬的活动（组织者不让我说出细节）。预定车位，请电416-726-2318或电邮info@asialiciousTO.com。 

 

The Carnival opening hours will be: Friday (from 6pm to 11pm), Saturday (from 11am to 11pm), and Sunday (noon to 6pm). There will be a surprise salute to the virus fighting front-line workers on Saturday (I am not at liberty to tell).
